"Get Well Poem"
You Get Well Little One
Run The Warm Water Until You Feel Better
Stretch Your Toes and Eat Cheese and Salad
And Hummus and Tomato and Root Beer
Wash Your Little Hair And Brush Your Hair
Put Lotion On Your Feet And Smile A Big Smile
You're Getting Well Every Single Day
Hold Your Head Up And Laugh At The World
Laugh At The Way Things Are And Be Silly
Just Laugh When People Are Mean To You
You Know Cruelty Is Just Not Getting Them Anywhere
The Very World Itself Seems To Bring You Down
So Don't Let It Bring You Down, Just Laugh At The World
If You Can Laugh You Can Get Well
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
Today It Is Snowing

The Little Feet Of Snow
Padded Gently Along The Avenue
Like Little Breaths Of Jesus
And The Streetlamps Lit Them Up
Aglow With Glowing Light
Like A Mermaid In The River
Or A Snail Shell In The Rain

"Sea Lettuce"
I Went Down To The Seashore
I Brought You A Tin Of Little Leaves
That I Had Gathered In A Garden
Where You Had Kissed Me. I
Held Your Hand As We
Crossed Over The Sand Dunes,
Kicking Them In Our Bare Feet.
You Were Very Quiet When I Brought You
Then Your Eyes Lit Up Like Fireflies, and
You Smiled.  Your Hands Were Out Like
A Dreamer, and You Went Towards the Water like
A Hypnotised Child.  I Watched The Water
Wet Your Feet And Kiss Your Toes, and
Thanked God That He Had Stooped To Give Me
Such A Beautiful Creature To Love.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
